Before I go too far with this, let's make one thing clear about the SAUDER CORNERSTONE LATERAL FILE: it's not made of real cut timber. It's particleboard, with your choice of phony wood veneer. We chose the "sky alder", whatever that is. (Is there a "sea alder"?) Anyway, the self-assembled product is a good looking piece that blends well with the other furniture in our double-wide. Come to think of it, it looks pretty good unassembled and spread out on the floor, too.By its very nature, particleboard is heavy. If you and the Missus intend to carry the shipping carton up more than a few steps, pre-position the heart medication so it'll be within desperate clutch of your clawing hand when you're prone on the ground. Excellent quality and overall a very professional piece. It was just what I wanted and fits in well with the other prices in the Cornerstone collection - Desk and Return- Staples has the desk and return on Close out but was out of the file draws. Anyhow for a low cost solution for office furniture this is a great deal

I have purchased several pieces of Sauder furniture in the past and have never been disappointed. The cabinet is attractive and very well made. While it is somewhat time consuming to assemble, it is worth the effort.
